About Paul

My name is Paul Rushing, I have worked as Internet Sales Manager at Carl Gregory Chrysler Dodge Hyundai in Brunswick, GA. I returned to the automotive industry in June of 2007 after leaving the business in early 1998. This was after almost eight years in the business. I have worked in every position in the sales department of an auto dealership from 1990 to 1998.

I reentered the car business after some coaxing from the individual that brought me into the business in 1990. I agreed on the premise of taking over the Internet Sales Department for the dealership.

During my intermission I sold at, managed and owned manufactured home dealerships until early 2006. I then started online affiliate marketing full force while managing several FEMA contracts in the Gulf Coast area of Mississippi. From December of 2006 until June of 2007 I was a full time online affiliate marketer. I have marketed online affiliate products since 1998 in various degrees, mostly as a hobby.

Now I provide content and SEO services to various clients in and out of the automobile industry.  With a primary emphasis on Social Networking and Social Media.

I still own several websites for the promotion of affiliate products, lead generation and paid advertising (AdSense). I still actively manage Traffic Arbitrage campaigns while my spouse has take over the role of managing other online properties with occasional, sometimes unwanted, input from me. Our online marketing sites are a family affair. The revenue from our affiliate marketing more than covers our day to day expenses!

I started this blog to chronicle my learning and voice my opinion of current automotive online marketing. Some of my views may not agree with mainstream schools of thought. Creativity and thinking out of the box has proven successful for me in the past and I see no reason to follow the heard now. I do subscribe to K.I.S.S. philosophy and am very pragmatic to the point of appearing negative about gee whiz products and services. Sure I like tilt, cruise and leather seats but my primary goal is to get from point A to point B.

I have received many sales calls and networking opportunities as a result of this blog. I love free flow of thoughts and receiving advice and opinions from others more experienced than me in automotive online marketing.

One of the major deficiencies that I see in online automotive marketing is that the industry is way behind the curve when it comes to current Internet trends and what is acceptable from its vendors and advertising sources. My personal goal is to stay on the cutting edge of current online marketing resources while finding viable alternatives to some of the products on the market today.
